Healthy People…

Healthy Landscapes

Since our start-up farming operations began in 2019 we have emphasized good health in all of our activities and interactions.

We find ourselves in a technological and ‘digital’ age. Although machines have made possible numerous advances in our lives, they have also introduced many challenges – particularly managing vast new sources of information.

In many ways we’ve lost the wisdom that arises from living in healthy relationships with plants, animals, and our neighbors - a loss of wisdom that is very evident in the Rockefeller Foundation Report True Cost of Food.

The Report emphasizes cost accounting that integrates the environmental and health costs of current ‘unwise’ agricultural and food production. The Rockefeller Foundation calls for a reformation of the farm and food economy.

Shewatuck Farm strives to create a healthy landscape – at a human scale - that encourages sincere work, invention, and meaningful collaboration.
